Enfield’s young guns took centre stage on Thursday as they helped guide the first team to a 14-7 victory over Guildford in the London League.
With a number of notable absentees for the tricky away fixture, Enfield could only field nine players and even lost one of those to injury on the night.
However, the north Londoners got off to another perfect start, with Andy Rolle firing in from the top of the arc and Chris Waller driving through to make it 2-0 early on in the first.
Charlie Briers then added two from 2m as Enfield made the most of their superior possession to finish the opening quarter 4-1 up.
In the second, the visitors lost their momentum and some wayward shooting allowed Guildford back into the game.
Rolle did manage to add his second from a man-up, Briers completed his hat-trick with a penalty and Tony Matthews also netted, but the home side won the quarter and only trailed 7-5 at the half.
Enfield’s defence, marshalled superbly by Richard and Alex Waller, performed strongly in the third and after conceding early on, they fought back with two quick goals from Briers and Craig Snowdon to make the score 9-6.
Despite losing Martin Waller to a shoulder injury and Snowdon receiving his third major, Enfield were still able to finish the fourth quarter powerfully.
Chris Waller completed a well-deserved hat-trick, Briers added his fifth and Richard Waller banged in two memorable strikes to make the final score 14-7.
The win sees Enfield climb above Watford to the top of London League Division Three, but their north London rivals have two games in hand.
