With an 11-goal handicap disadvantage, Watford were always likely to struggle against a well-organised Enfield, who were once again superbly marshalled by Christian Pulido.
However, some wayward shooting from the hosts in the opening quarter handed Watford the early initiative as they raced into a 2-0 lead.
Pulido then settled some of Enfield’s nerves with a fine finish before Martin Ilievski found himself unmarked on 2m to tie the game at 2-2.
In the second, Enfield defended too deep and their north London rivals capitalised with seven stunning strikes from distance.
With the game in danger of slipping away, the hosts responded through Andy Rollé, Alex Waller and Richard Waller, but Enfield still trailed 9-5 at the half.
A change in tactics in the third saw the home team fight back, and a quick brace from Rollé and goals from Rob Lucas, Pulido and R Waller levelled the scores at 10-10.
The final quarter saw Enfield concede four, but it wasn’t enough to save National League side Watford from elimination.
Charlie Briers finished off the scoring for Enfield as they lost 14-11 (2-2, 3-7, 5-1, 1-4) on the night, but they progress to the next round thanks to their +11 handicap.
Enfield’s team in full was Andy Boorman, Craig Snowdon, Alex Waller (1), Richard Waller (2), Rob Threadgold, Rob Lucas (1), Martin Ilievski (1), Charlie Briers (1), Christian Pulido (2) and Andy Rollé (3).
