FINA WOMEN’S WATER POLO WORLD LEAGUE 2017 – SUPER FINAL

A fierce six-day tournament kicked-off today in Shanghai, China, during which eight teams previously qualified at the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League Intercontinental Tournament and at the European preliminaries will battle it out for the World League title.

The reigning Olympic champion holds all titles on offer at the elite level so far but USA’s dominance in this competition will be challenged by the Aussies, who defeated the champions in Davis in May at the Intercontinental Tournament.

Since the event’s inception in 2004 there have been 13 Super Finals with USA winning an incredible 10, while also claiming one silver and one bronze.

The groups’ composition in Shanghai unfolds as follows:

GROUP A: USA, RUS, JPN, NED

GROUP B: AUS, HUN, CAN, CHN
