Tickets to attend the 33rd LEN European Water Polo Championships Barcelona 2018 will go on sale tomorrow, Thursday. Over 100.000 tickets will be available on the official website of the tournament, www.wp2018bcn.com. Barcelona 2018 will be the major water polo event of the season and will be attended by the best 16 men’s and 12 women’s teams in Europe.
Tickets have been set at an affordable price so that every water polo enthusiast has a chance to witness the 15 days of competition firsthand. Prices start at 7€, 16€ for the final. The most economic pass, which will allow access to all the matches, costs 115€.
For those wanting to buy tickets in person, ticket booths will open on July 11 at the Bernat Picornell Pool.
Except for the men’s round 16 and quarter finals and the women’s quarter finals, which will be played in three different sessions with different price ranges, Barcelona 2018 will have two daily sessions. The first will start at noon and will allow access to six matches, and the other will take place in the evening, with two matches, including those of the Spanish national team.
Spain is one of the eight countries that have already qualified for the men’s tournament, along with Serbia, the title-holder, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, Greece, Russia and Hungary. In the women’s category, Spain is joined by Hungary, the European reigning champion, the Netherlands, Russia, Greece and Italy.
The complete list of participating teams will be revealed after the last qualifier, which will be played in February and will consist of a two-legged tie.
The championships will take place between July 14-28 at the Bernat Picornell Pool, located at the Barcelona Olympic Ring. Temporary stands will be added to increase capacity to over 4.000 viewers.
To increase sales during the first few weeks, the Organizing Committee will send a gift to the first 200 people who purchase their tickets by December 31.
