Enfield’s Under-19 stars Richard Waller, Alex Waller and Charlie Briers won silver at the National Age Group finals in Manchester on Sunday.
After accepting an invite to play for Croydon Amphibians, the talented trio were instrumental in ensuring they finished on the podium.
In the semi-final against a strong Exeter, Richard Waller fired in twice, while GB star Briers found the net five times to help Croydon to a 14-6 victory.
City of Manchester stood in their way in their final and despite some excellent performances, Croydon were edged out 5-4 in the final seconds.
“Richard, Alex and Charlie were unfortunate to miss out on gold, but it wasn’t to be and they can hold their heads high,” said Enfield coach Martin Waller.
“Throughout this tournament, the three of them have excelled and it’s simply fantastic to see three Enfield players taking part in such a prestigious final.”
