FINA has the pleasure to announce that seven National Federations/Cities have shown their interest in hosting the 2025 or 2027 edition of the FINA World Championships and FINA World Masters Championships.
At the deadline of November 26, 2018 interest has been received from the following host cities:
– AUSTRALIA, Melbourne
– CHINA, city to be confirmed
– HUNGARY, Budapest
– RUSSIA, Kazan
– SERBIA, Belgrade
– UKRAINE, city to be confirmed
– USA, Greensboro, North Carolina
After this initial step, a meeting will be held in Lausanne (SUI) between these candidates and FINA on January 25, 2019 so that they can receive all the necessary documents and information concerning their bidding process.
On their return home, the potential candidates will decide if a formal bid could be presented to FINA. If they do so, FINA, together with the candidates, will construct the best possible bid, considering the respective circumstances in each location.
On June 17, 2019 the National Federations/Cities have to present their formal bid to FINA and on July 11, 2019 the FINA Bureau will vote and award these competitions to the successful candidates.
Before the 2025 and 2027 rendezvous, the upcoming FINA World Championships and FINA World Masters Championships will be held in Gwangju (KOR, 2019), Fukuoka (JPN, 2021) and Doha (QAT, 2023).
