FINA WOMEN’S WATER POLO WORLD LEAGUE 2017 |

The European preliminaries of the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League 2017 resumed last night with the third round being disputed in Athens (GRE) and Budapest (HUN). Greece narrowly defeated Russia 8-7 on home soil (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-1), while the game Hungary-Italy had to finish in penalty shootout. Hungary ended up winning 13-11 (2-3, 2-2, 2-3, 4-2). None of the teams taking part in the tournament have won all their matches but Greece tops Group A and Hungary Group B. Current ranking after round 3 of the Water Polo World League GROUP A: GRE 4pts (1W, 1Lp); RUS 3pts (1W, 1L); NED 1pt (1Wp) The fourth round of the FINA Water Polo World League will be played on February 21.
